Think for yourself, remember this quote while your casting your ballot this year, or perhaps before you vote. (and do a little research.) This year I have have heard way too many people talk about how strong they feel about their canidate for some less-than-political reason. Dont send a vote out because larry at the bar told you how much better the country would be if Obama won the election, or because McCain's running mate Palin, is real hott. Although it may be a nice change, its not a factor that will save the economy's continuous plummett to hell, or for that matter help the country in any way. How about we all

take an educated swing this year and not let History repeat itself.

Oh, how times are a changin!

I recently helped my father rip down some old walls in the house my Grandmother lived in up until she passed away last December. She moved into this house around 1956, and my Father along with his 5 brothers and sisters grew up in the house. My grandmother is one of those ladies who saves everything, and there was literally decades documents and pictures and books. After the work was done, we began cleaning up alot of the mountain of years and years of memories. From pictures my uncles had painted before they passed away to report cards from there high-school years, I was amazed with my findings. But out of everything, the best treasure I stumbled upon was my Grandmothers high-school year book from 1948. Every male student has on a suit and tie as the females all wore dresses (even the girls basketball team all had sporty-ish dresses on?). I am real happy I found the yearbook and was able to keep it. One day, I hope to have the oppertunity to pass it down to my children. It is unbeliveable how much things have changed from 1948 until now. Compare some facts from 1948,(The year my Grandmother graduated) and the year I graduated highschool in 2007.

1948 Slowly the fashions were becoming more daring with the Bikini gaining in popularity slowly and the first prefab post war housing to solve housing shortages were starting to appear both in Europe and the USA as they could be built quickly to accommodate the growing need and were cheap to build and for people to buy , the quality was not great but they did enable the baby boom after the war years by providing young couples with a home to start their family. In Europe the cold war took a new turn when the Soviet Union blockaded West Berlin in Germany and the US countered with an 11 month airlift of food and supplies. Also due to demand and inflationary pressure prices rose and many believed that governments should bring back some price controls. And Televisions are appearing in more and more homes.

Another Crime In Democracy

“Bang Bang Bang” Someone was at the door. Paranoia immediately filled the young mans body. Slowly he creped to the front door, and carefully peered outside to see his close friend along with 5 or 6 unknown individuals all laughing hysterically. He yelled for them to come in, and to his dismay only his friend entered the house with no recollection of any company. They laugh about the mistaken image that had appeared to the young man, and decide to gaze into the wall.
As it begins, the two friends catch up on current events and eventually are silent and engaged with the film. Beautiful flowers turning into haunting monsters, the movie tells the story of a young fatherless boy who turns into an overworked, over drugged rock star who is so stress out and miserable he feels he cannot go on.
Although the two young men held positive lives that were for the most part completely smooth besides a few hiccups that any normal life would have, they began to feel as they could relate to the rock star and became overwhelmed with the film. Soon they slipped into the world around them began to dissolve into darkness and the film became more a much more realistic point of interest until finally the “fictional film” turned into a very real reality.
They began there journey in an oblivion of colorful lights spinning erratically and then slowed to show different past memories in the their lives. They saw the beginning, the end, and everything in-between. In the most chaotic time in the young men’s lives, they had clarity normally unimaginable. Things finally made sense to them and they soon realized some things they have always thought to be truth, were in fact lies of corruption and greed.
After what seemed to be hours later the young men come back to the living room where they began the journey. They stumble over their words trying to explain the experience, but no words could explain what they had experienced. The wondered if the world they had entered was real, it had to be. Nothing so intense and graphic could be a dream. They were amazed by the events that had occurred and stopped paying attention to there surroundings.
One of the young men, Joseph, was an intelligent resident of the urban community. He was 19 years old and enjoyed life to the fullest. The other was his close friend Rich, 18 from a close suburb. Rich almost didn’t even notice Joseph wondering out of the basement-style room. Joseph found himself in the up-stairs bathroom painting diamond designs around his eyes. He wasn’t exactly sure why he was doing this but just going with the flow of things soon he appeared to be a mad-hatter of sorts. He soon drifted into the innuendo and entered the mysterious world of Wonderland. For what seemed to be hours he tried to escape the “rabbit hole” hallway that never gave him trouble before. Around every corner he found an adventure. He battled demons and stopped an evil villain from taking over the world. He laughed, he cried, he even died for a brief moment, then attended his own funeral. And rose again because the bad guy never wins.
Meanwhile, just feet below in the basement-style room, Rich was in his own world of brilliant colors. He meditated and began to float. The all-mighty being appeared to him and shared many of life’s secrets. He told him he was the chosen one. The one who will deliver a message to millions. A message of hope for those who will listen and a warning to those who will not. He realized that all matter is merely energy condensed into a slow vibration, that we are all of one consciousness. That subjectively there is no such thing as death life is only a dream and we are just an imagination of ourselves. For once in his dull, ordinary life, he felt as if he possessed something special. He realized once he lost his ego, all of insecurities seemed to dissolve away. He laid back and chuckled at this ironic discovery.
As the night drifted into the calm oblivion, the boys analyzed there lives. They talked about what their opinion on themselves were, where there life was going, and future goals and hopes. They truly understood each other and grew even closer as friends. They took the time to pause a brief moment and life and think about what was truly important to them and emphasized there passions of the past present and future. They laid on the grassy front yard and enjoyed the warm summer air. Listening to soothing music and gazing into the infinite star filled sky, they drifted off into a utopias state and ended a coherent idea of dictatorship. END~

Gt'n Hitched!

As you many know, my sister Valerie is getting married on friday. I am happy to say, I approve of the man she is marrying hes funny and a great guy. Tonight, I have to go to a rehearsal because I am a Groomsman. I am pretty excited for the wedding because I come from one of those familys where the kids enjoy family get togethers. My family is crazy. I wanted to do a slidehow but Im not sure on how to yet (K sulll is gonna show me soon) So here is a short photo tribute To Valerie Donovan and Dave Caullier!

Person of the month September

Ive decided to add a person of the month. Someone who i feel, for any specific reasons deserves special recognition for events in time.

I began to think about who would be the first month's victor and could think of no one who deserved it more then Matthew Cote.(AKA Code E, Snorlax, Michelin Man.) I have been friends with Mr.Cote for many fun filled years. He is one funny bastard and will always bring fun to a tedious job. I have worked with Matt in many professional kitchens as well as kitchens at home, and he can be one devoted worker.
When he isnt being a negitive Nancy...

Flashback a few years and I can remember Having a tv show with Matt titled "The Broccoli Brothers" It aired one season on BATV in Billerica Ma, and still plays reruns of the show. The set of the show took place in my Mother's kitchen (lived at home at the time Special thanks to Mom!) and often had interesting comical twists on school culinary inside jokes and rediculous commercials.

We actually were guest on a BATV talk show and were interviewed by Tom Zuppa. People enjoyed Matt's funny jokes and impressions. The rest of the time at school our culinary teachers would refer to us as "The Broccoli Brothers" and I can even remember signing a few autographs for our crazy fans.

Now, Matt is currently going to school to become and EMT and his test is coming up soon. He recently told me for his test he will need a friend for the practical, he asked me if I would volunteer to help and I told him I would be honored!
